College Transition

In today's job market, adult learners need an array of knowledge, skills, and financial resources to access and persist in education or training beyond high school or GED completion. In response, adult educators have begun formalizing programs that support nontraditional students to transition to postsecondary education and training. CD&A's extensive work with educational service delivery systems and collaboration efforts provides a good basis to assist in the development of transition projects at the national, state, and local level.

  • Pennsylvania Department of Education – Evaluation of the Career Gateway pilot program that partners the state's education, labor, and financial aid agencies to improve cross-agency support for adults transitioning to postsecondary education
    .
  • Hispanic Scholarship Fund – Evaluation of the implementation and outcomes of the Georgia Pilot Program, an alliance between the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, funded by the Goizueta Foundation, that encourages and supports Latino youth to attend college.

  • Pennsylvania Department of Labor – Evaluation of PA Youth in Transition, a state initiative that connects dropouts and youth aging out of foster care to high school or GED completion and postsecondary education opportunities by partnering local education, labor, and welfare agencies.
