Cassie’s Background
In 2000 Cassie established Cassandra Drennon & Associates, Inc. as a way to pursue both her commitment to education and her passion for research. She came to CD&A after 15 years as a practitioner in the field of adult education. During that time, she taught adult literacy and English as a Second Language in the Richmond Public School system; coordinated professional development and training services for adult educators in Virginia and Georgia; and served as a state director of staff development for adult education. She is co-author with Hanna Fingeret of Literacy for Life: Adult Learners, New Practices (Teachers College Press, 1997) which is used as a text book in graduate adult education programs throughout the United States. She serves on the faculty of Antioch University and has taught graduate adult education courses for The University of Georgia. Cassie received her ME.D in adult education from Virginia Commonwealth University and her PhD in adult education from The University of Georgia.
